of Ravi's sister, SUVARNA
and RAVI on keyboards, percussion, bass & electric kora
Suvarna studied violin and voice for many years in India and plays a Zita electric violin
Her compositions are based on Indian ragas and sacred chants
Live debut was at WOMAD in Reading in summer 2002

Review of This Dewdrop World
The raga-based vocals of Suvarna sweep and soar organically over a base of instruments including the violin, kora, tabla, keyboards, synthesizer, guitars, mandolin, flute, oud, saz and a variety of percussion. The dramatic ragas are re-interpreted for western ears yet still bless the origins and even add a new dimension with the electronica treatment adding rather than distracting from the full depth of the music. Useful for chilling on all levels
