"The term "world music" was invented for nights like this.....Ravi's virtuoso kora playing and Marlui Miranda's passionate interpretation of Brazilian Indian music.... strumming on her guitar and emitting otherworldly noises at regular intervals " Phil Meadley in The Independant ***** (July 06)
British-born kora player
Ravi, flanked by tablas, Indian flute, saxophone and guitar, delighted
with his multi-ethnic aural tapestries" The

Ravi's acoustic quartet @The Shetland
Folk Festival
We've had plenty of unusual line-ups at the Kashmir Club over
the years, and RAVI's line-up may well top the lot. This unique
ensemble created a beautiful mosaic of sounds on 'Follow The Road',
a passionate song about Tibet that recalled the crusading spirit
of Bruce Cockburn. Ravi wasn't being "eclectic" just
for the sake of it. On 'Ghost Dance' I was so mesmerised that
I forgot to make any notes! Don't pass up a chance to see and
hear Ravi's wonderful music....Review
of RAVI's acoustic quintet at the legendary Kashmir
Club, London
Ravi may have forsaken the traditional
way and developed his own original style, but he sure wares his
influences on his sleeve. In his hands, the kora, as well as being
gentle and hypnotic, can produce power chords with the best of
them. The effect is exciting. The songs appeared to have borrowed
the eco/social agenda of Whats going on by Marvin Gaye going on;
and the voice of Ravi....Al Jarreau meets Nana Vasconsales.....Rob
